Feeling rather flattered to be the cover for The University of Hertfordshire Alumni magazine, Futures, as well as a double page spread.
All looks rather grand and reads well.
Thanks to Louise at UH for hunting me down 😀

Absolutely thrilled to be in this months ‘Hertfordshire Life‘, a three page article by Caroline Foster. A really well written article… she has definitely ‘got me’ and my work, how lovely!
Also highlights the current show ‘Paper, Scissors, Stone – Taking paper beyond the page’ at the beautiful setting of Parndon Mill gallery, Harlow.
This will be the last day of the show and all exhibiting artists will be on site between 2-4pm as well as an African Drum group (including yours truly) to provide some uplifting vibrant music on the green (or in the prioject space if the weather is against us). Do come along if you are free… this should be fun, (dancing is encouraged!).
I have  been nominated in this years  ‘The Creative Hertfordshire Flame Awards’.
Outstanding contribution to the arts (over 25) – Sponsored by Creative Hertfordshire
This award recognises the contribution to Hertfordshire’s arts by individuals over 25.
This award considers the nominees achievement over the last year for themselves or enabling others.
It also considers how the outcomes of this/these achievements have affected themselves or  what impact have their activities had on arts audiences or participants?
A full list of all successful nominations are available to download here Creative Hertfordshire Flame Awards 2014.
The winners, who are selected from the nominations by a panel of judges, will be announced at the award ceremony.
The award ceremony takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday 4th October at the Weston Auditorium, University of Hertfordshire, Hatfield and will see the winners announced from a shortlist. The evening will recognise the achievements of organisations and individuals, of all ages, who symbolise the very best of Hertfordshire’s arts and culture. It will also feature performances from talented young people in the Heart of Flame Festival, the county’s cultural celebration of work by young people for young people. Tickets are available at £5.00 from The Weston Auditorium box office (10am – 4pm) on 01707 281127 or uharts@herts.ac.uk.
I was most fortunate to be interviewed by the lovely Clare Kendal Bate on behalf of  Hertfordshire Visual Arts. They produce a monthly newsletter, and I am fortunate enough to be chosen as one of their featured artists.
HVAÂ Â is run by an enthusiastic voluntary Organising Group, with members from all areas of involvement in the visual arts.
HVA aims to:
Artinliverpool.com – Huyton Gallery Knowsley: For the Love of Books.
Also listed here… great to see work utilised in promotional copy.
For the Love of Books | Blog | Design Week.
Upcoming show appears in Design Week article…big Yay!
So, I having been practicing as an artist for the last five years and only now having the confidence to really start getting my work out there… I have been much more proactive recently in connecting with groups, organisations and generally becoming a little more present. I recently have been selected on Axis, a really good arts organisation in the UK. I have just been selected alongside another artist to be Axis choice this week (by the Axis curatorial team). How very exciting and a great confidence boost!
Check it out here.
In the mean time… been very busy in the studio, riding on the coast of a terrific creative wave, or should that be flow?
